This Privacy Policy explains how FounderGem LLC ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use RankGem (the "Service"). We are the controller of your personal information for the purposes of this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — name, email address, and password (passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider).
- Brand and content data — your business/site details, the website URL you submit for analysis, keywords, topics, and the content you create with the Service.
- Connected-account credentials — access tokens and configuration for platforms you connect (e.g. WordPress, GitHub, Google, social networks), used to perform the actions you request.
- Support communications — messages you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — features used, generations produced, and basic log data (IP address, browser/device type, timestamps).
- Cookies and local storage — used to keep you signed in and remember preferences. See our Cookie Policy.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number; we receive limited billing details (such as the card brand, last four digits, and subscription status) to manage your subscription.
2. How we use information
- To provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- To generate, optimize, publish, and track content as you direct.
- To process subscriptions, billing, and the money-back guarantee.
- To communicate with you about your account, security, and updates.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. AI processing
To generate and optimize content, we send the inputs you provide (such as topics, keywords, brand details, and the text of pages you ask us to analyze) to third-party AI providers, including Google (Gemini) via an AI gateway. We do not sell your content, and we instruct our providers to process it only to deliver the Service. AI providers may process data under their own terms.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers (subprocessors) who help us operate the Service, including:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and backend hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
- Google / AI gateway — AI content generation and analysis.
- Our application hosting and email providers.
- Platforms you connect — when you direct us to publish or sync, we send the relevant content and data to those services on your behalf.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
5. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. After you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (for example, billing records).
6. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and connected-account tokens confidential.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. If you are in the EEA/UK, our legal bases for processing are performance of a contract, our legitimate interests, your consent (where applicable), and compliance with law.
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.
To exercise any right, contact privacy@rankgem.app. You may also manage much of your data directly in your account settings.
8. International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
11. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@rankgem.app.
